My kids loved...

...getting their face painted. We've got a tiger on our hands.
...walking around with this pretty butterfly on her face.
...making this darling bat hat at school
...wearing the bat hat around.
...playing with this at the children's museum
She has her eyes shut because when you open the lever a ton of air comes rushing out. She loved it.

Scary Bat and our little Bee

In early October Q started talking about being a scary bat for halloween. Well the month rolled along and while my mom was here we went to target and Q found a superman costume that he loved so we got it. I thought yay, I don't have to find a scary bat costume. Well that night we came home and the fun wore off and Q decided he didn't want to be superman after all, he was sticking to his month long plan, to be a scary bat.

Well I looked all over and couldn't find a bat costume, there were tons on batman costumes but not one bat costume so I resorted to my sorely lacking crafty skills. I saw a picture of a bat hat in a magazine for kids that I thought I could reproduce so I pulled out the glue gun, ran to michaels, and at 10:30 the night before Q's preschool party I went to work. I cut out felt pieces  for wings, ears and eyes and hot glued them to a black knit cap. Then I found an old maternity skirt that was disgustingly huge and cut it in to a cape. Found a black shirt and safety pinned, oh yes, safety pinned the cape on to the back of his shirt. And guess what? You have never seen my little Q Bear so filled with delight. It was a serious bless your heart costume, but it made my boy happy and that is all that matters.

Here is our cute little bee. Who by the way, loved Halloween. Candy, candy, candy. At the door she would hop out of our stroller and go up to who ever was holding the bowl of candy and dive in and then she would stop and say, tank coo.

Little Mermaid on Parade

We had fun visiting Brooke's school for the annual Halloween Parade. Whitney, the kids and I rushed over to see the entire school parade through the auditorium in their costumes. We loved every minute of it!

Little Mermaid and Rachel the vampire
Little Mermaid put on her best smile for her dad.
Brooke begged for an Ariel wig and I couldn't find one so we found some red hair spray instead, which actually turned out to be florescent red. She loved it!!!!  Look at that glowing hair.
Brooke's Teacher led the way. She wouldn't tell the kids what she was dressing up as and when Brooke saw that she was a hot dog she giggled and giggled and giggled.

Halloween Party at Brooke's Class

I was in charge of cookie decorating for Brooke's Halloween party at school. It was so much fun to be in her classroom. I love her teacher, she gushes over everyone and everything, and is positive about every little thing that goes on with her kids in this darling classroom.

I brought in some fun music to play in the background and the kids rotated between four stations of Halloween activities. I was glad to get to meet every child in her classroom and get to know them by name. Such cute kids!

We love Nana!

My mom came to town to help me while Whitney was in China for a week. I couldn't have done it without her. It was so much work and so much fun. We did a lot and had a ball. Nana is so much fun.

A trip to the zoo.
You can see the baby giraffe in the distance. We are loving all of the babies at the zoo.
Little Zuri, I can't get enough of her. How adorable is she! I love that she is using her trunk to help keep her ball in the right place.
Nana came to school to meet Brooke's teacher and to see her classroom. Mom just retired from teaching last year so I wanted her opinion. She loved it. Brooke and her best friend Rachel.
We took a trip down to the petting zoo. Nana's sweater almost got bit off by this cute cow. She was letting her lick her hand and the next thing we knew she had taken a bite of her sleeve.
Q feeding the cow.
Riding the ponies. So fun.
Nana helped keep Anna from tipping over. Anna has to do what her siblings do.
Anna and Nana, they have a special bond. About the third night Nana was here Anna dove in to my mom's arms to have her put her to sleep. I have never been the second choice for my little girl. I was glad she liked Nana so much she would even let her put her to sleep.

Nana brought her halloween costume for the kids to play with. And did we ever have fun. I have video footage of all the kids dancing with this costume on. We had a blast.
Go Anna!
She was dancing up a storm.
Even Q had to try on the skirt. Ha.
Thanks mom!

BYU Homecoming

Whitney had been in China for a week and his flight came in just before the game so we picked him up and headed straight to Provo. We did stop off at my brother's home so he could clean up a bit. What a fun night! The cougars were a disaster, but we had fun reconnecting with old friends and doing the fight song on the field at half time.
My old squad

Isaac, Liz, Josh, Sarah, Mom, Whitney and Me.
The night before a bunch of us went to dinner and then over to Danny's to hang out. Here is Suzette and her darling little girl and I.
Tiffany and Dave were both on the squad, it was so fun to catch up with them. They have two darling little girls.
Danny and his wife Mary and Courtney who also married a yell leader. So fun.

Tigers Blood...

that is the name of Brooke's coed soccer team. One of the kids on the team insisted on the first day of practice that that was going to be their name.
It has been so fun for Brooke to be on a team with her closest friends. Brooke's almost cousin(they share the same aunt)  Rachel is on the team and her dad is the coach. They are undefeated and have had some really exciting games.

Brookie has even made a goal. Whitney told her if she makes a goal she gets a slurpee. Motivated by her incentive Brookie took the ball down the field made a goal and then turned to Whitney and walked off the field. She had accomplished what she set out to do and was D-O-N-E Done. So funny. Making assists and goals are fun but we are most excited she has had a chance to play on a team, and have fun with her friends.

Here are some fun pics.
